Best affordable drugstore contour palettes- elf and wet n wild review

We’ve all been obsessed with perfecting our contour- watching beauty vloggers on repeat and hunting down the perfect products… But it’s not in every women’s budget to buy a palette or brush that’s upwards of $40! (ahem, the ABH palette or Nars Ita brush…) We are all looking for drugstore affordable contouring products.

There are a few new products out on the market that you need to pick up if you are looking to work on your contour game. Finally, contouring has been made affordable by E.L.F. and Wet n Wild.

Wet n Wild released two contour duos: the Coloricon Contouring Palettes, in Caramel Toffee and Dulce De Leche {yum!} These palettes are 100% matte! You can only find these gems at Walmart stores right now and they’ll run you about $4 each. This is a great value because you get a ton of product in these!

Caramel Toffee has a pink highlight shade and a cool toned brown contour shade {left}, Dulce De Leche has a yellow highlight shade and a warm toned brown contour {right.} The texture of these powders is very soft and smooth, and the color payoff is buildable. I don’t experience any patchy application with these powders.

E.L.F. just recently launched their contour palette on their website, it is not yet in stores. This palette only comes in the one color combo, but with four shades there’s enough variety for most. You can pick this up for only $6! {seriously!} Bonus: there’s a really great mirror on this palette.

You can pick up E.L.F.’s contour brush for another $6 as well. This brush makes defining your contour a lot easier! The brush overall is thin enough to create a precise line, the bristles are nice and dense, and the bristles average about the same length. Only downside: because of the size of the brush, you can only use it at an angle in the E.L.F. contour palette. Otherwise this is an excellent tool for any beauty queen on a budget.

This quad has a matte yellow highlight, a shimmer vanilla highlight, a warm brown contour, and a cool brown contour. Having four color options in one palette is very convenient, plus it could save you a ton of time and space. Another bonus to this quad that the Wet n Wild duos lack is a shimmer highlight- it’s nice to be able to reach for this one combo rather than grabbing a few different products. The formula on these powders is again soft and buildable.

As far as color payoff and blendability go, both drugstore options are winners!

If you are in the market for drugstore affordable contouring products give these a try!
