March Ipsy Glam Bag Review + Value

March 31, 2016
Can you believe that March is coming to a close already? With the end of the month comes the review of another Ipsy Glam Bag. Here’s a peek into what I received (keep in mind that the products included vary based on a personalized style survey!) my thoughts on each item, and the value of my Glam Bag.

What’s Inside?

march 2016 ipsy glam bag review

I’ve given up hot tools for a while as a part of my attempt to make my hair healthy again, so I wasn’t able to test out this Marc Anthony blow dry cream. I haven’t personally had success with these types of products in the past, I find that they tend to weigh down my hair and make it feel greasy. There are quite a few 5 star reviews on Ulta.com for this smoothing cream though, so I’ll be giving it a try when I incorporate my hair dryer into my beauty routine again. A full size bottle is $9 and 4 times the volume of this sample, so I have about $2.25 worth of product.

Nyx liquid suede cream lipstick in kitten heels- swatch and review
Let’s talk about this full size NYX Liquid Suede cream lipstick in Kitten Heels. Liquid lips have been the IT trend in beauty for some time now. Every brand seems to have a variation of a liquid lipstick. This one in particular applies very smooth and opaque, and takes a minute to dry. Once this has dried down it is completely matte and doesn’t feel drying on the lips. With that said, I noticed that the color does transfer (like onto your cup, etc) even if you blot. Kitten Heels in particular is a very orange red, but it’s very pretty on. Liquid Suede lip creams from NYX retail for $7.
Nudestix lip and cheek pencil in mystic- swatch and review
Included was a Nudestix lip and cheek pencil in Mystic. The packaging is different from the product available for purchase (a plastic tube vs a wood pencil) and it appears smaller for that reason, but at 0.08oz this is actually larger than the pencil available at Sephora (0.05oz) for $24. Although, the “full size” product includes a pencil sharpener and a metal case with mirror. Honestly, I would never buy this product because I feel as though I’m paying more to get a case I wouldn’t use! This pencil was slightly sticky/tacky, but the color blends well. I wouldn’t use this on my cheeks personally because of the texture, and it’s not my favorite finish for a lip color. This does have pretty good reviews online overall, but this is not a product for me. I would never buy it and I probably will never use it again.
Skone waterproof felt tip eyeliner in jet black- swatch and review
A full size Skone waterproof felt tip eyeliner in Jet Black was included in my bag this month. Retail this was $20, but is now $15. I did not experience any bleeding or smudging when I wore this, and it washed off easily with remover. It very much reminds me of the Jordana Fabuliner, only more expensive. I’m really impressed with this product overall, but it will never replace my NYC liquid liner or Lorac Pro liner.

I also received a Beau Gâchis Paris eye shadow brush. This will be my second brush from the brand, as I got a blending brush in my January bag. These brushes are very high quality and soft! The ‘eye shadow’ brush is the perfect size for an all over color, and retails for $12.
