Colourpop Haul

Much like new clothing and accessories, I’m always on the hunt for new makeup!
If you’ve learned anything from reading my blog, you know that I love saving money. So, I am always interested in budget friendly brands, and of course sales. A few weeks ago Colourpop Cosmetics was hosting a sitewide sale, and after months of hearing nothing but good things about Colourpop I finally placed my first order!
Colourpop, based out of LA, is an extremely reasonably priced cosmetics line including products that I would easily pay full price for- but at 20% off I was eager to jump on the band wagon
Here are some of my thoughts on my purchases:

Super Shock Shadows

Colourpop has an amazing selection of eye shadow colors in a variety of finishes, so many that I probably had 3 times the amount that I actually purchased sitting in my cart by the time that I was ready to check out! After much deliberation, I ultimately settled for neutrals that could be easily mix-and-matched and a couple of ‘burgundy’ shades.

Overall I have quickly fallen in love with the Super Shock Shadows. The texture of these pigments is incredibly smooth and nothing like I have ever experienced… Almost like they are equal parts cream, gel, and powder. They are best applied with your finger or a flat synthetic brush for the most pigment and opacity. Each shadow is regularly priced at $5, which is a price I can totally get behind.

As for pigmentation, the swatches above were applied with my fingers.

Super Shock Cheek Highlight

With sunny days comes the desire for illuminated skin… so I couldn’t place an order without adding at least one of the Colourpop highlights to my cart! Their Super Shock Cheeks came in another broad selection of shades to choose from, I opted for a color that would be ideal for everyday use.

The highlights come in the same packaging and formula as the shadows, but are larger in size (a little over 2 times larger). This particular shade (Lunch Money) is a pretty light gold with just enough shimmer. The best part? They are only $8!

Brows

Colourpop recently expanded their line to include brow products, and almost as soon as they launched they were sold out! Luckily they were almost fully restocked in nearly every shade during the sale, so I picked up one of each product: their Brow Colour and their Brow Pencil. I’ve had a long running love affair with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade and I was interested in how a $6 formula would compare… and it didn’t let me down! I purchased the brow colour pot in Bangin’ Brunette and the brow pencil in Red Head. The pencil matches my new red locks a little more than the brown, and I love the thin pencil and spooly combo.

Do you like deals as much as I do? If you sign up for Colourpop’s emails you’ll get a $5 off coupon code, and you’ll be kept in the loop when there’s another sale!
