A little about the blogger:
My name is Rachael, and I love clothes, makeup, accessories, and home décor! I am a true girly girl- Elle Woods is my role model and my go-to party theme is ‘princess.’ Oh, and glitter is my favorite color (duh).
You could say I am on a constant sugar high with all of the sweets that I love to eat, and that’s just the way I like it! Chocolate is easily one of my favorite foods, but I’ve been a grazer of all sorts of sweets and snacks my whole life. My first job was probably the most fitting role I have ever held: manager of a candy store!
Also, I have an unhealthy obsession with chihuahuas (I blame Elle.) I just think that they are so cute! My husband Taylor and I adopted one in October 2015, her name is Mocha- named in part because of her coloring, but mostly after my coffee addiction.
My indulgent lifestyle is dependent upon thrifting and saving money. My mom always said: “you can be poor, but you don’t have to look like it”
I’m 30 years old and currently reside in Washington state, just outside of the Seattle area. I have lived in Arizona for a short while and don’t consider Washington state my forever home, but here is where I grew up and met my husband Taylor (We got married in Seattle October ’16!)
About the blog:
Where did the blog name come from? When I started CLC I was living in a little apartment on Compass Lane. I was bored with my lifestyle and I was outgrowing my closet space. I made this blog to record the outfits I would put together from pieces I sourced in thrift shops and found on sale. Then I would resell them and buy something new! I have always had expensive taste, and I aimed to create a chic life that I loved while on a budget living in my little apartment… so Compass Lane Chic just made sense.
‘Fashion is what you buy, Style is what you do with it.’ This quote has always felt so true to me. I want everyone to know chic style is possible for any frugal fashionista! This blog is here to help you look and feel more stylish in today’s and tomorrow’s fashions.
Here on Compass Lane Chic I like to share more than just style inspiration. Chic extends far past your wardrobe; I love to do DIYs, reviews, share my tips+tricks, decorate, and more!
